The second edition of Qatar Travel Mart returns and will once again gather the world’s top destinations and reveal the latest trends in Sports, MICE, Business, Cultural, Leisure, Luxury, Medical, and Halal tourism. As Qatar will be hosting the most popular sporting event in the world - FIFA World Cup 2022, it is anticipated that QTM 2022 will be a platform to gather entities beyond the realm of the sporting industry to support its demands, such as DMCs, Tour Operators, Travel Agencies, Travel Technology Companies, Associations, and Tourism Boards, both local and international. Now more than ever, the travel and tourism industry needs a venue to create new connections, grasp fresh opportunities, and reconnect with existing relationships. The event will also host a reservoir of thought leaders, experts, and influential stakeholders to provide insights into the industry’s latest trends and innovations through "QTM Conference".

why tourism now?

As the country hopes to abandon its dependence on oil and gas and increase the number of visitors to 7 million by 2030, Qatar is developing other parallel strategies, such as providing easier entry for citizens of other countries, which has made it the eighth most open country in the world in terms of visas, and first in the Middle East, according to the most recent update by the World Tourism Organization (WTO).

Travel & Tourism industry of Qatar directly impacts its economy, employment and exports, Qatar Travel Mart 2021 will further strengthen the competitiveness of tourism industry by bringing together the inbound and outbound tourism together by providing a market place for mutual relationship among tourism businesses at home and abroad to promote their tourism resources and cultures.

    Cruise tourism is a crucial contributor to the growth and development of Qatar’s tourism industry as it will have an immediate impact on visitor arrivals and tourism spending. According to Data gathered by QTA, the majority of visitors on cruise ships this season were European, with the most substantial portion being German (44%), Italian and British visitors formed the second and third largest groups respectively (Qatar Tourism Authority, 2018).

    Census 2020 data showed that the number of buildings in Qatar rose to 216,740. Residential buildings were at the top of the list with 80.3%. Out of all newly issued building permits in 2021, villas are top of the list, accounting for 73% averagely

  • GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

    Home loans are provided to eligible citizens with the necessary facilities to purchase or build houses. The state approved a budget to support long term loans for more than 50,000 families, approximately QR1.2M per person, and 2,400 housing plots will be issued through-out 2021.
